GO ON courses also known as ' Learner Journey ' are broken down in to four levels - online basics, starting, using and understanding. The journey helps centres and individuals track their learning progress and build their own journey based on the subjects that interest them. Courses include how to use a mouse, to how to bank, shop and stay safe online, digital photography to politics, job hunting to bargain hunting.

The National Numeracy Challenge measures the numeracy you need in daily life at work and at home, and does not directly follow these levels, but the table below shows how scores roughly equate to adult skills levels. Scoring 80 or more on the Challenge shows that you have the Essentials of Numeracy, the core skills needed for daily life.
City and Guilds have launched two new qualifications, which act as stepping stones for learners who wish to progress on to a functional skills qualification. These new qualifications provide a perfect complement to Functional skills and Entry level skills for life programmes. The qualification is available from Entry 3 to Level 2.
